1. Call to order, invocation, pledge, and roll call.

Note: Anyone interested in appearing before Council at this meeting should register with the City Secretary.

2. Communication from the public (limited to the first eight registrants –limited to five minutes).

In accordance with the Texas Attorney General’s opinion, any public comment that is made on an item that is not on the posted final agenda will only be heard by the City Council. No formal action, discussion, deliberation, nor comment will be made by the City Council

3. Approval of Minutes.

· March 19, 2008 Regular Council Meeting.

4. Consider and act on amending Ordinance 166 caption to read as follows:

AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE OPERATIONS OF WRECKERS IN THE CITY OF WALLIS, TEXAS DEFINING CERTAIN WORDS AND PHRASES; PROHIBITING THE FOLLOWING OF AMBULANCES AND POLICE CARS IN A WRECKER; PROHIBITING THE PARKING OR STOPPING OF WRECKERS AT THE SCENE ON AN ACCIEDNT UNLESS SUCH WRECKERS HAVE BEEN CALLED AS HEREIN PROVIDED; PROHIBITING THE SOLICITATION OF WRECKER BUSINESS ON PUBLIC STREETS; PROVIDING A PROCEDURE FOR CALLING FOR WRECKERS SERVICE; REGULATING OPERATIONS OF VEHICLE STORAGE LOTS; REQUIRING PERMIT FOR OPERATIONS OF VEHICLE STORAGE LOTS; PROVIDING A PENALTY OF NOT LESS THAN $50.00 NOR MORE THAN $500.00 FOR A VIOLATION; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY.

5. Consider and act on 2006-2007 audit from John Pehacek Certified Public Accounting firm.

6. Consider and act on request to expand existing mobile home park on Gresham St.

7. Consider and act on request by Lessenger Construction on building project located at the corner of South 6^th and Dubose Street.

8. Consider and act on authorizing Shireen Abdullah permission to obtain account information on all city accounts from the Wallis State Bank.

9. Consider and act on closing Guyler to Cedar Street on May 18, 2008 for a benefit.

10. Discussion and possible action on 8-Liners ordinance.

11. Discussion on streets and drainage.

12. Consider and act on setting agenda for the May 21, 2008 City Council Meeting.

13. Financial Review: Monthly reports, Budgetary Amendments if necessary, payments of bills.
